My name is Alison Collis and I am continuing to work with this cohort, and am Year 12 Year Adviser for 2024. Miss Magdoline Shakir is Assistant Year Advisor and is also here to assist your sons. My role is to assist the students of Year 12 with all aspects involved in their wellbeing and it’s impacts on their learning. I work closely with the school welfare team and classroom teachers to ensure your son has the best experience possible at East Hills Boys High School. I am the first point of contact for parents in relation to any issues regarding your sons’ wellbeing at East Hills Boys High School.
I have had the pleasure of working with Year 12 since they began Year 7 in 2019, and have seen them transition from scared little boys in Year 7 to the amazing, capable and self-possessed young men they have become in Year 12.
And now, onto Year 12! The students are all now well into their HSC subjects and are working towards that final goal of academic and personal success. We have established a new HSC Hub for students who have timetabled study periods, and you, and the students, will be made aware of additional opportunities throughout the year for the students to utilise this hub to prepare for Half Yearly, Trial and HSC exams.
During 2024 our Year 12 students will have many opportunities to get involved in at school and I encourage students to participate in as many school groups and activities in order to build memories of their last year of school. The School Swimming and Athletics carnivals are always highlights for the students, as these days always offer excellent opportunities to celebrate with their friends.
We obviously have a lot of activities and highlights for students in the coming year, culminating in their Graduation Dinner and Graduation Ceremony in the last week of Term 3.
I will be passing on important information and documents throughout the year however, please do not hesitate to contact me with any further concerns.
I can be contacted by either email on alison.collis3@det.nsw.edu.au or by phoning the school on 9773 7806.
Students can find me in the HSC Hub in the Library.
