Welcome to Year 10 at East Hills Boys High School!
My name is David Williams, and I am honoured to be the Year 10 Adviser for 2025. My role is to support and guide our Year 10 students as they navigate this important year of their education. I work closely with the Year 10 Assistant Year Adviser, Ms Madison Barnes along with the school welfare team and classroom teachers. Together, we are committed to ensuring that each student’s wellbeing is supported, helping them flourish both academically and personally.
Year 10 is a pivotal year, marking a key stage in the development of study habits, personal growth, and maturity. It’s the time when students refine their focus for the senior years ahead and begin to plan for their future success. At East Hills Boys High School, we take great pride in fostering a supportive environment where our students can remain motivated, build resilience, and maintain a positive outlook on their education.
In 2025, Year 10 students will continue their studies in core subjects including English, Maths, Science, PDHPE, History, and Geography, while building on the knowledge gained in their elective subjects from Year 9. Additionally, students will participate in enriching programs such as Berry Street, Careers, and Auto Shed lessons every fortnight, which will further support and enhance their academic learning.
As students start to plan for their senior years, they will receive support in choosing the right subjects for Year 11 and Year 12, with an information booklet to guide them in making well-informed decisions. This year also provides numerous opportunities for students to get involved in leadership roles and a variety of extra-curricular activities, from the SRC, debating, and science club, to sports, chess, and more.
