Year 10

Hello parents and friends,

My name is Jason Morvan and I am a Science teacher and the Year 10 Adviser for 2025. As Adviser, my role is to be the main point of contact for both teachers and parents regarding the boys' welfare and well-being.

I work closely with my assistant, Mrs Madison Barnes, and Heads of Welfare, Mrs Lisa Callaway and Mrs Rheema Ayoubi, ensuring that each and every year 10 student feels at home at East Hills Boys as they grow from young boys into young men. Each student will forge their own path which will hopefully see them achieve their ambitions. Year 10 marks the year where students can either continue their studies into senior secondary or decide to leave school and learn a trade or other similar vocation to begin their new life. Either way, we teachers are here to help a student discover what it is they want to do with their lives and guide them toward achieving that desire.

One of the most rewarding and satisfying aspects of teaching is witnessing a student maturing, recognising and accepting their own responsibilities, and becoming an adult.

I look forward to meeting parents at awards ceremonies, Open Nights at school, at sporting events, or wherever we might meet up.

If parents wish to contact me, I can be reached via my school email -

jason.morvan@det.nsw.edu.au - or by calling the school office on (02) 9773 7806 and leaving a message for me.

Students can always speak to me directly at school, either in my room or the Science staff room.

My own senior school Maths teacher always said to our class, "Luck is a four letter word, spelt W-O-R-K". As I grew up, I realised the truth in his statement. Wherever your path might lead you, create your luck by putting in the work.

Good luck year 10!
